Last week we visited the fabulous “Alright Pumpkin” pumpkin patch in Fordstown Co Meath. We had a fantastic afternoon. It as about a 45 minute drive from where we live, and it was definitely worth it.
I was really impressed how it was all done up for for the kids. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by these colourful fellows.
We then went through the corn maze, where you can pick your own corn. The kids loved this, I think it was their favourite part!
The corn maze led us out to the pumpkin patch and the kids were so excited to see all the pumpkins.
Jack picked his pumpkin out very quickly but as then left waiting whilst undecisive Lucy just couldn’t make up her mind. Then she wanted one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch then I reminded her that mummy actually needs to be able to lift it to the car. Thankfully I managed to convince her to get a smaller one
The great thing was there was no cover charge for the pumpkin patch we only had to pay for the pumpkins and any corn that we picked, so the pumpkins were €5 each and the corn was 2 for €1.00 so it was really reasonable. There was the opportunity to pick your own potatoes, pumpking carving demonstrations, which I think we just missed and there were hot refreshments available too.
We had a fantastic afternoon and this is definitely the start of a tradition for our little family.
